The Friends of the Sandy Springs Library (FOSSL) is a nonprofit volunteer organization dedicated to the enhancement and enrichment of the Sandy Springs Regional Library.

Thank you so much for your support of the Friends of Sandy Springs Library and your Sandy Springs Library.  FOSSL has emerged from COVID stronger than ever, and in 2025, provided more than $20,000 to the Sandy Springs Library to purchase books for the library’s collection and provide materials for art classes, reading programs, author talks, and other programs.  The vast majority of these funds have come from our FOSSL book store and are the result of incredible volunteer support.   

Branch Manager Michael Kim has been an exemplary steward of our financial support.  Under his leadership, Sandy Springs Library has the highest program attendance numbers and the second highest number of total library visits of all libraries in the Fulton County system.  FOSSL is proud to continue supporting his efforts to grow the reach and impact of the library.     

2026 is an exciting year for FOSSL.  We are expanding how FOSSL engages with the greater Sandy Springs community – from business to schools and other non-profit organizations.  We hope this enhances how our community supports our library.

To do these things, we are asking our members for concrete help. Our bookstore is renowned for its excellent inventory, and we are introducing programs to bring more shoppers in this year. Please continue to bring in your high-quality book donations so we can maintain the quality of our inventory and refresh it often and let us know if you are interested in hosting a book donation drive in your neighborhood or at your place of work.

FOSSL wants to better engage with Sandy Springs schools and businesses to enhance community-wide support of our library. Please reach out if you can serve as a liaison between FOSSL and a local school or business.

Ultimately, FOSSL wants all members of our community to know that our library is a place of knowledge, community, growth, and refuge. We thank you for your past and continuing support, for your perspective, and for your enthusiastic support of our library.
